MARK TIME
Item: Mark time shadow board
Issue: Incorrect mark time position, angle and height
Desired Outcome: Assist with mark time drill requirements
Exercise: Start with the member in the stationary position, correctly positioned so that when the foot is raised to the Mark Time “At” Position the sole of the raised boot sits on the changeover of colour on the board, to show the required height, angle and toe/knee position. The member can do this slowly and more relaxed, bit by bit or in quick time.
Work with a partner (sitting/lying at Mark Time level), mirror or coach.

A further line can be added to the shadow board to show the angle achieved position before the toe is lifted from and returns to the ground.
This shadow board can be designed to suit whatever chosen angle is desired. For this board a 45-degree angle is being highlighted.
Remember – If the member experiences any discomfort or pain stop the exercise immediately. Members must always be supervised by an Accredited Coach. Should the member wish to do this exercise away from training please explain the exercise and the purpose to an adult who can supervise e.g. parent or guardian.
